Why does this maintenance set contain both cleaning tablets and descaler?

Because these are two different kinds of contamination. The cleaning tablets remove coffee oils from the parts that come into contact with coffee, such as the brew group. The descaler removes limescale from the water tank, the pipes and the boiler. Our customer service regularly gets the question whether one replaces the other: that is not the case, you need both. For the milk carrying parts you also need a separate milk cleaner.

Does Rose romantique oolong tea contain caffeine?

Yes. Oolong is a true tea from the tea plant and naturally contains caffeine, also known as theine. The added rose blossom and marigold contain no caffeine themselves. How much ends up in your cup depends on your dosage and steeping time. If you want no caffeine at all, choose rooibos or a herbal infusion.

What is the difference between the coffee, espresso and cappuccino cup and saucer from Café du Jour?

The three cups come from the same original Café du Jour series and differ only in capacity: the espresso cup is about 80 cc, this coffee cup about 150 cc and the cappuccino cup about 200 cc.

These sizes are regularly mixed up when ordering. If you are looking for a larger cup for a cappuccino or a latte, choose the 200 cc version instead of this coffee cup.

What is the difference between the espresso, coffee and cappuccino cup and saucer from Café du Jour?

The three cups come from the same original Café du Jour range and only differ in capacity: the espresso cup is about 80 cc, the coffee cup about 150 cc and the cappuccino cup about 200 cc.

These sizes are regularly mixed up when ordering. If you are looking for a cup for cappuccino or latte, deliberately choose this 200 cc version and not the smaller coffee or espresso cup.

Does Pure Rooibos tea contain caffeine or theine?

No, this Pure Rooibos is caffeine free. Rooibos does not come from the tea plant but from a South African shrub, which means it naturally contains no caffeine. The tea is also low in tannins, which keeps its taste mild. That makes it a pleasant choice for the evening or for anyone who prefers to avoid caffeine.

Is the Caffè Hausbrandt Superbar suitable for a bean to cup machine or a portafilter machine?

Both are possible. We think the Superbar is exceptionally well suited to a semi automatic machine with a portafilter, but it certainly does not look out of place in a bean to cup machine. These are whole beans with a medium roast, so not an extremely dark, oily bean that the grinder of a bean to cup machine can struggle with. Just keep the bean hopper and the brew group clean according to the manual of your machine.

Does Chun Mee green tea contain caffeine?

Yes. Chun Mee is a real green tea from the tea plant and therefore naturally contains caffeine, also known as theine. How much ends up in your cup depends on your dose and steeping time: the longer you let it steep, the more caffeine. If you want a cup without caffeine, choose rooibos or a herbal infusion.

What is the difference between these cleaning tablets and a descaler?

Cleaning tablets tackle coffee oils in the parts that come into contact with coffee. A descaler tackles limescale in the water system: the water tank, the pipes and the boiler. Those are two different types of build-up and therefore two different products; you need both of them. If your machine has a milk frother or a milk container, a milk cleaner is added to that.

Is the Gina caffè crema suitable for my bean to cup machine?

Yes. These are whole coffee beans with a medium roast, suitable for both semi automatic and bean to cup coffee machines. A medium roasted bean is less oily than a dark roast, which bean to cup machines from Jura and Melitta for instance are more sensitive to. You simply fill the beans into the bean hopper; grinding is not needed, your machine does that itself.

How do you clean reusable stainless steel straws properly?

Preferably rinse the straw right after use and run the supplied cleaning brush through it a few times under warm running water. This matters especially with milk, smoothies or syrup, because those residues dry onto the inside of the straw quickly. Then leave the straws to dry upright, so no water stays inside.

Which appliances are these Bosch / Siemens descaling tablets suitable for?

These tablets with article number TCZ6002 / TZ60002 are intended for bean to cup machines and coffee makers, and you can also use them in a kettle. They are suitable for the descaling programme of automatic espresso machines. Please note: this descaler is not suitable for appliances with a galvanised or enamelled surface, unless that surface has been given an acid-resistant treatment. If you are unsure about your model, the manual of your machine is decisive.

Which beans are in the Hausbrandt Gourmet Colombus?

The Gourmet Colombus consists of 100 percent arabica beans from Colombia. So it contains no robusta, which makes the coffee milder and less bitter than a blend with robusta.

The beans are roasted in Italy, at Hausbrandt in Trieste, which has been roasting coffee there since 1892.

Do I get whole beans or ground coffee in the Gina tasting pack?

You get whole beans. Both bags in this tasting pack contain 1 kilo of unground coffee beans, so you need a grinder or a machine with a built-in grinder.

We recommend grinding the beans just before brewing, as that makes a noticeable difference in aroma. If you are looking for ground coffee, choose a product with ground coffee in the product name.

Is the Julius Meinl Espresso Premium Collection suitable for a bean to cup machine?

Yes. These are whole coffee beans with a medium roast and according to Julius Meinl this medium strength espresso is also intended for bean to cup coffee machines. A medium roasted bean is less oily than a dark Italian roast, which means the grinder of your bean to cup machine copes with it well. This blend also works perfectly in a portafilter machine.

How many cups of coffee will I get from 500 grams of Landhaus Klassisch?

The usual dose for filter coffee is 6 to 7 grams per 125 ml cup, about one level measuring spoon. That gives you roughly 70 to 80 cups from 500 grams, or around ten full jugs.

If you find the coffee too weak, add a gram or two extra per cup rather than letting the machine run more water through. More water through the same amount of coffee makes the cup thinner, not stronger.
