Do I still need to descale my machine if I use this water filter?
Yes, even with the use of this filter, we recommend descaling your machine at least twice a year. The filter removes certain substances such as chlorine, lead and copper, but does not completely prevent the build-up of limescale.
What does 'Extra Dark Roast' mean for this coffee?
‘Extra Dark Roast’ means that the coffee beans have been roasted for longer and at a higher temperature. This gives the beans a stronger, more intense flavour and a darker colour, perfect for lovers of strong coffee.
For which brewing methods is this coffee most suitable?
The MrKoffieboon Medrupia beans, thanks to their blend and roasting, are suitable for various brewing methods such as fully automatic coffee machines, espresso machines, and filter coffee. Their strong intensity makes them especially popular for espresso and cappuccino.
How strong is the flavour of this coffee and how is it roasted?
This coffee has an intensity of 10, which means it is a very strong coffee. The beans are light to medium roasted, resulting in a powerful but not bitter flavour.
Are these beans suitable for both espresso and filter coffee?
Yes, these beans are versatile in use. Thanks to their medium-dark roast and balanced flavour profile, they are suitable for both espresso and filter coffee. Feel free to experiment with your preferred brewing method.
How many tablets do I need per descaling cycle of my coffee machine?
We recommend using 1 to 3 descaling tablets per half litre of water, depending on the water hardness in your region. If possible, also consult the user manual of your coffee machine for the recommended amount.
Are these descaling tablets suitable for every brand of coffee machine?
Yes, Café du Jour descaling tablets are suitable for all brands of coffee and espresso machines, such as Jura, Siemens, Bosch, Gaggia, Krups, Saeco, WMF, Ninova, Miele and more.
For which brewing methods are these coffee beans most suitable?
These omni-roast beans are particularly versatile. They are excellent for use in a filter machine, but also perform exceptionally well in an espresso machine. Customers appreciate the Aurora Mundo both as an espresso, americano, and in milk-based drinks such as cappuccino and latte.
What is the ideal grind size and brewing method for these coffee beans?
These coffee beans can be ground slightly coarser than other beans in our range, especially if you are using an espresso machine (such as a Sage Barista Express). For espresso, a brewing time of 25 seconds for 30 ml is recommended. Due to the balanced flavours, the bean is suitable for both espresso and cappuccino, but for larger cappuccinos a slightly stronger bean may be desirable.
Is the Aurora Mundo coffee roasted fresh every week?
Because we produce Aurora Mundo completely separately from our other coffees, it is not freshly roasted every week. The product page always displays the current roast date, so you know exactly how fresh your coffee is.
Can I also use these descaling tablets for my kettle?
Yes, these tablets are also suitable for descaling kettles and other hot water appliances. Please ensure that the appliance has an acid-resistant surface.
What flavour characteristics can I expect from this coffee?
This coffee is known for its powerful and distinctive flavour with light to medium roasted notes. Thanks to the blend of different coffee origins, the taste is full and balanced, with possibly a slight fruitiness and a mild bitterness.
What flavour profile does the Aurora Mundo coffee have and how intense is it?
The Aurora Mundo has a fresh, medium roast with a slightly sweet and somewhat nutty flavour. This makes the coffee intense and powerful (intensity 8), yet still smooth and balanced, which is why it is loved by many customers as an all-rounder.
What makes the Auro - Saloy - 70% dark chocolate unique compared to other dark chocolates?
The Auro - Saloy - 70% pure chocolate is made from cocoa sourced from the remote mountain region of Saloy, near Davao City on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. The combination of crystal-clear spring water, the tropical rainforest climate, and the special selection of beans from a single estate creates a unique, vibrant, and dynamic flavour that is characteristic of this region.
What does it mean that this coffee has a low acidity?
A low acidity means that this coffee offers a smooth and mild flavour, without the sharp or sour note that some coffees can have. This makes the Kimbo Crema Suprema particularly suitable for people who are sensitive to acidic tastes or are looking for a silky-smooth coffee experience.
