FAQ
Customer Questions
Are Lazarro Crema Schümli beans suitable for my bean to cup machine?

Yes. According to the product details this blend is meant precisely for bean to cup coffee machines, and also for espresso machines and coffee specialities.

A customer with a bean to cup machine asked us which coffee he could take without his grinder getting dirty from oily beans. Our answer was that in this price range many beans are somewhat darker and therefore oilier, but that the Lazarro crema is not bad in that respect. These beans are medium roasted and mild in intensity.

What is Crema Schümli coffee and what does the Lazarro Crema Schümli taste like?

Crema Schümli is a Swiss coffee style in which the beans are medium roasted for a smooth cup with a firm, creamy layer of crema. The Lazarro Crema Schümli is put together in that tradition from Arabica and Robusta beans.

The taste is mild and balanced with a fresh body and subtle notes of chocolate and spices. In our product details this coffee is rated at intensity 2, so on the mild side.

Is Lazarro Crema Schümli made of arabica or robusta beans?

This is a blend of Arabica and Robusta beans. The Arabica provides the soft, slightly fruity side of the taste, while the Robusta gives body and a stable layer of crema.

The manufacturer does not state a ratio between the two types, so we cannot name it. The coffee simply contains caffeine and is therefore not decaffeinated.

Which coffees can you make with Lazarro Crema Schümli beans?

According to the product details this blend is suitable for crema, lungo, cappuccino, latte macchiato and filter coffee. Thanks to the mild taste and the creamy crema it comes into its own in coffee with milk.

These are whole beans in a 1 kilo pack, so you need a grinder or a machine with a built in grinder. For an ordinary cup of coffee you count on roughly 5 to 8 grams of beans.

How do you store an opened 1 kilo bag of Lazarro Crema Schümli?

Close the bag properly after every use and store it dry, dark and at room temperature. Do not put coffee beans in the fridge, because they absorb moisture and odours there.

We advise finishing an opened 1 kilo bag within four to six weeks. If you want a kilo to last longer, fill a smaller airtight tin and leave the rest sealed.
