Yes. These are whole coffee beans with a medium roast and according to Julius Meinl this medium strength espresso is also intended for bean to cup coffee machines. A medium roasted bean is less oily than a dark Italian roast, which means the grinder of your bean to cup machine copes with it well. This blend also works perfectly in a portafilter machine.

The beans come from Brazil and Central America, including Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Nicaragua. The blend is UTZ certified and is roasted in the Viennese coffee house tradition. Julius Meinl has been roasting coffee in Austria since 1862.

We describe this blend as chocolatey, nutty and slightly fruity, with a medium roast. It is intended as an espresso, but it also lends itself to cappuccino and filter coffee. For a double espresso, count on about 16 to 20 grams of ground coffee. If you are making filter coffee, 5 to 8 grams per cup is a good starting point.

Seal the 1 kilo bag well after each use and store it in a cool, dark and dry place. The fridge is not a good spot: coffee attracts moisture and odours there. Unopened, roasted coffee keeps for about a year, but the aroma is at its best within about three months of opening the bag.
