Café du Jour 100% Arabica Brazil coffee beans are chosen for their exceptional quality and overall flavour profile. They're ideal for places like offices where people have diverse taste preferences. Each batch is visually inspected to ensure there are no defective beans (too small, too big, different colour). We sought a bean that offers a bit more quality and is larger compared to other popular varieties. This is the perfect stepping stone to speciality coffee beans if you've been buying beans from the supermarket for years and are ready for an upgrade.

FAQ
Customer Questions
What is the roast date?
The roast date of Café du Jour's coffee beans is usually a maximum of four weeks before dispatch. This means that the coffee beans are generally no older than four weeks when they arrive at your door. Many people ask if coffee beans are already too old after three weeks. The answer to that is: no. Freshly roasted coffee actually reaches its best flavour after a few weeks. During roasting, carbon dioxide (CO₂) is created inside the coffee beans, which can mask the taste at first. That is why coffee is at its best between one and four weeks after roasting. After roasting, the beans are immediately packed in special coffee bags with a one-way valve. This valve allows CO₂ to escape without letting oxygen in, so the aromas are preserved and the coffee remains fresh. This way, you can count on an optimally fresh product with a full flavour!
Are these Brazil 100% arabica coffee beans suitable for fully automatic coffee machines and espresso machines?
Yes, these coffee beans are very suitable for use in both fully automatic coffee machines and (semi-)automatic espresso machines. Many of our customers use these beans in fully automatic machines at the office or at home and are enthusiastic about the results. These beans are also very well suited for espresso machines and filter coffee.
What can I expect from the flavour and aroma of these coffee beans?
The Brazil 100% arabica coffee beans are characterised by a smooth, mild and full flavour, often with nutty and slightly chocolatey notes. In the aftertaste, you will notice a light sweetness with a hint of fruit and sometimes a subtle acidity. The coffee is neither bitter nor distinctly acidic, making it a real crowd-pleaser. Many customers appreciate its elegant aroma, the robust crema and its slightly fresh character.
What if I have a different taste experience (for example too acidic, too light or too fruity)?
Flavour perception is highly personal and can depend on your coffee machine, grind size, and brewing method. Some customers occasionally experience a slight fruitiness or acidity, especially with a coarser grind or insufficient extraction. Our advice is to experiment with the grind size and brewing time to achieve the desired result. If you prefer a stronger or darker flavour, we also have darker roasted varieties in our range.
Are these coffee beans mild or strong? Is the coffee suitable for cappuccino or espresso?
These coffee beans have an intensity of 8 (strong), yet the flavour is nicely balanced and not overwhelmingly bitter. This makes the bean suitable for both a mild black coffee and for cappuccino, espresso, lungo or latte macchiato. Several customers indicate that the beans are particularly well suited for cappuccinos, thanks to the rounded flavour and full aroma.
