Joerges Heritage Espresso – the essence of Italian coffee culture

Whether you're enjoying a lively conversation or taking a moment to escape the hustle of the day, with the Joerges Heritage Espresso you experience the pure passion of Naples in every sip. This authentic espresso is a tribute to Italy's rich coffee tradition, bringing the intensity of Southern Italy straight to your cup.

The bold roast and carefully selected premium Robusta beans deliver a full, aromatic flavour. The slow roasting process – where the beans are 'cracked' twice – creates a distinctive aroma reminiscent of cafés in the narrow streets of Naples.

The Joerges Heritage Espresso combines refined notes of nuts and chocolate with a spicy, powerful body. Perfect for an intense espresso, but also ideal as a base for classic Italian coffee specialties such as Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, or Flat White.

FAQ
Customer Questions
What does the Joerges Heritage Espresso taste like?

The Heritage Espresso is a strongly roasted coffee in the Neapolitan style, made with premium Robusta beans.

You taste refined notes of nuts and chocolate, with a spicy and powerful body. The slow roasting process, in which the beans crack twice, creates the characteristic, full aroma.

If you find it too bitter, use a slightly coarser grind size or let the espresso run for a shorter time.

Can you also use the Joerges Heritage Espresso for cappuccino or latte macchiato?

Yes. This blend is intended as an intense espresso, but just as much as a base for classic Italian coffee specialities such as cappuccino, latte macchiato and flat white.

The powerful body and the notes of nuts and chocolate remain clearly recognisable through the milk. Allow roughly 16 to 20 grams of ground coffee for a double espresso as the base.

Is the Joerges Heritage Espresso suitable for a bean to cup machine?

You receive 1 kilo of whole beans, so you can pour them into the bean hopper of your bean to cup machine.

Do bear in mind that this is a powerful, dark roast. Dark roasted beans have a slightly oilier surface, which the grinder of some bean to cup machines is sensitive to. In that case clean the grinder regularly or choose a lighter roasted blend such as the Joerges Heritage Melange or Schümli.

What is the difference between the Joerges Heritage Espresso, Melange and Schümli?

The Heritage Espresso is the most powerful of the three: dark roasted, rich in robusta, spicy and with notes of nuts and chocolate.

The Heritage Melange is medium roasted, a blend of Arabica and Robusta, mild and nutty with floral and slightly fruity notes.

The Heritage Schümli consists of 100 percent Arabica and is mild, full and smooth with a light acidity and a silky crema, made for the bean to cup machine.

How do you store the Joerges Heritage Espresso coffee beans of 1 kilo?

Seal the bag well after use and store the beans in a cool, dark and dry place.

Do not put them in the fridge, because coffee absorbs moisture and odours there. Unopened, coffee keeps for about a year, but the aroma is at its best if you drink the kilo within three months.
