Yes, these are whole coffee beans which according to Tchibo are intended for the bean to cup machine among others. You can also grind them yourself for an espresso machine or a filter coffee maker, but then you need a coffee grinder. Fill the bean hopper of your machine with the amount you use up within a few days, that way the beans stay at their best.

This blend consists of 100% arabica and is 100% fairtrade. The beans were grown in Brazil and lightly blended with beans from other Latin American countries. In the cup that gives a harmonious, aromatic coffee with subtle notes of red berries and a velvety layer of crema.

You receive whole coffee beans in a 1 kilo bag. There is no ground version in this packaging. If you want to make filter coffee or espresso, grind the beans yourself to the grind size that suits your machine: filter grind for a pour-over filter and espresso grind for an espresso machine. Filter grind and percolator grind are not interchangeable.

The bag has a pouring spout with a screw cap on the right hand side, so you can top up the hopper of your coffee machine without spilling and then seal the bag airtight again. Store the bag cool, dry, dark and tightly closed. Do not put it in the fridge, because coffee absorbs moisture and odours there.

For a regular cup of filter coffee you allow about 5 to 8 grams of coffee and for a double espresso about 16 to 20 grams. On a bean to cup machine you usually set the strength with a button or a slider. If the coffee tastes too bitter, choose a coarser grind size or a shorter brew time. If it is too sour or too thin, grind finer or dose a little higher.
