The coffee beans from Café du Jour’s own brand are roasted in small batches by a specialist master roaster. The beans are roasted and restocked weekly, so the roast date is always recent. The roast date is therefore clearly stated on the packaging label.

Resealable coffee packaging

Whether you buy 250 grams, 500 grams or a kilo of Café du Jour coffee beans: they always come in special resealable packaging. The coffee bag features a special resealable edge so you can always seal your coffee airtight again. On the front of each bag is a valve, which allows gases and air to escape from the bag without letting outside air flow back in. This way, we do everything we can to preserve the optimal freshness of your coffee!

Can you also make iced coffee with the Café du Jour Summer Coffee?

Yes. We do not sell ready to drink iced coffee or iced coffee powder, but with this summer coffee you can easily make your own. Brew the coffee about twice as strong as usual, let it cool down and pour it over ice cubes.

The Summer Coffee was put together precisely as a fresh, smooth blend for summer and therefore works well both in a hot cup and in a glass of iced coffee.

Do you get whole beans or ground coffee with the Café du Jour Zomerkoffie?

We supply the Zomerkoffie as whole coffee beans. You choose the pack size yourself: 250 grams, 500 grams or 1 kilo.

If you grind the beans yourself, choose the grind that suits your equipment. Espresso grind for an espresso machine, filter grind for a pour-over filter and percolator grind for a percolator. Filter and percolator are not interchangeable.

Which brewing methods is the Café du Jour Zomerkoffie suitable for?

According to our product data this blend is suitable for a bean to cup machine, a semi automatic machine, a filter machine, a cafetiere and a percolator.

In terms of drinks it comes into its own as espresso, filter coffee, lungo, crema, cappuccino and latte. Thanks to its balanced character and fine body, the Zomerkoffie can be used in many ways.

Which beans are in the Café du Jour Zomerkoffie and how strong is it?

The Zomerkoffie is a blend of arabica and robusta with beans from Brazil, Indonesia and Guatemala. The roast is medium and we rate the intensity at 6, which means normal.

In the taste you recognise chocolatey, spicy and nutty notes. It is a smooth, approachable coffee and not a heavy espresso bomb.

How fresh is the Café du Jour Zomerkoffie and how do you store the beans?

Our own coffee is roasted in small batches and every week. The roast date is printed on the label of the bag.

The bag is resealable and has a valve: gases can escape, air cannot get in. That is why the packaging does not feel vacuum sealed, which is exactly as it should be. After roasting, freshly roasted beans still need five to seven days to degas.

Store the beans cool, dark and well sealed, and not in the fridge.
