What are the filters of the Single Serve Drip Bags made of, are they plastic free?

The filter bag of our Single Serve Drip Bags is made of non-woven material, usually based on polypropylene. So it is not a 100 percent paper filter and it is not completely plastic free either. We would rather say that honestly than leave you with a surprise.

If you are looking purely for a filter made of paper or cardboard, these drip bags do not match that wish. For the brewing itself it makes no difference: you hang the bag over your cup and pour hot water over it.

What exactly is in the Single Serve Drip Bags Trio?

The trio contains three boxes of fourteen drip bags, 42 cups in total. You get our 100% arabica Brazil (smooth and balanced, with nutty and caramel notes), our 100% arabica Ethiopia (fruity and floral, with bright acidity) and our 100% arabica Decaf (decaffeinated, with notes of chocolate, nuts and dried fruit). Please note: decaffeinated does not mean caffeine free, a small residual amount remains.

The composition of this pack is fixed, you cannot swap the flavours inside it. If you want to try a single flavour, the Brazil, Ethiopia and Decaf can also be ordered individually or by the box of fourteen.

How do you brew a cup of coffee with a Single Serve Drip Bag?

Remove the outer wrapper and tear the bag open along the dotted line. Fold out the flaps and hang them over the rim of your cup so that the filter hangs freely.

Then slowly pour 150 to 180 ml of hot water into the opening. Wait until all the coffee has run through, take out the filter and your cup of filter coffee is ready. You do not need a coffee maker or separate filters.

Do I get coffee beans or ground coffee with the Single Serve Drip Bags Trio?

You do not get loose beans or a pack of ground coffee. Every drip bag is a pre-filled mini filter with freshly ground coffee, measured out for exactly one cup of 150 to 180 ml.

So you do not have to grind or weigh anything and you do not need a coffee maker. Just hot water and a cup. That makes them handy on the go, at the office, in a hotel or at the campsite.

How is the decaf in the Single Serve Drip Bags Trio decaffeinated?

The 100% arabica Decaf in this trio is decaffeinated with a chemical free, water based CO2 process. The beans come from South America and East Africa and are medium roasted in small batches in our own roastery.

As with every decaf, a small residual fraction of caffeine remains. For roasted decaffeinated coffee a legal maximum of 0.1 percent applies in the EU. In terms of flavour you will recognise chocolate, nuts and dried fruit.
