This chai consists of black tea from Sri Lanka, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, cardamom and cloves. The spices are dosed so that no single element takes over: cinnamon and cardamom are at the front, ginger and black pepper add a light kick and cloves give depth. Yes. The base of this chai is black tea from Sri Lanka and that naturally contains caffeine. The spices themselves do not add any caffeine. If you let the bag steep for a shorter time, a little less caffeine ends up in your cup.

Use 1 tea bag per cup and water at 100 degrees. Let the bag steep for 4 to 5 minutes, so the spices can really release their flavour. A shorter steeping time gives a lighter, more tea-like cup, while steeping longer makes it spicier.

You can. You drink the Original Black Spice Chai plain or the Indian way, with warm milk and a little sweetness. Brew the bag a bit stronger, for example two bags in a large mug, and top it up with warm or frothed milk to taste. The spicy base of cinnamon, cardamom and ginger still comes through well.
