Passalacqua Mehari is an iconic blend within the Passalacqua range and is considered by many to be their absolute favourite. With its exotic name and distinctive character, this coffee symbolises speed, strength, and elegance, just like the Mehari dromedary it is named after.

The blend consists of fifty-five per cent Arabica and is made from four different origins. This results in a rich complexity and a flavour that is strong, full-bodied, and creamy, without sharpness or imbalance. According to Laura Passalacqua herself, Mehari is the perfect blend, and it more than lives up to that reputation with every cup.

Thanks to its powerful body and velvety crema, Passalacqua Mehari is ideal for espresso, but it also excels in cappuccino and other milk-based drinks. Unsurprisingly, this is Passalacqua’s best-selling blend.

Taste profile: Strong, Full-bodied, Creamy, Perfectly Balanced

Passalacqua Mehari is a distinctive Italian coffee for those who love intensity, depth, and harmony in a single cup.

FAQ
Customer Questions
Is Passalacqua Mehari certified organic?

No. Passalacqua has several blends and not all of them are certified organic. Our product data lists no official organic label for Passalacqua Mehari.

If you are looking specifically for certified organic coffee, have a look at our range of organic coffee beans.

Where does Passalacqua Mehari come from?

Passalacqua is a Neapolitan coffee roaster and Mehari is produced in Italy. The blend is named after the mehari dromedary and is the best-selling blend of the brand.

The dark roast and the full, creamy flavour are typical of the Neapolitan espresso style.

How strong is Passalacqua Mehari?

On our intensity scale Passalacqua Mehari sits at 10, in other words very powerful. That suits the dark roast, the full body and the velvety crema.

The flavour is creamy and chocolatey and stays in balance, without sharpness. If you still find the result too bitter, grind a little coarser or let the espresso run for a shorter time.

How much Arabica is in Passalacqua Mehari?

The blend is fifty-five percent Arabica and is made up of four different origins. The rest of the blend is Robusta, which gives it the full body and the thick crema.

That ratio makes Mehari powerful and full, but still balanced.

Which coffee drinks is Passalacqua Mehari suitable for?

Mehari is meant for espresso, cappuccino, caffè crema and lungo. Its powerful body means the coffee flavour still comes through well alongside milk.

You receive whole coffee beans in a 1 kilo bag, so you need a grinder or a machine with a built-in grinder. For a double espresso you use around 16 to 20 grams of ground coffee.
