FAQ
Customer Questions
What does 'Naturmild' mean in this ground coffee?

Naturmild refers to the character of the blend. The beans and the roast have been chosen so that the coffee is low in acidity, which gives a soft, rounded cup with a lightly nutty note and no sharp finish.

People who sometimes find ordinary filter coffee a bit sharp or harsh often end up with this type of coffee. Do bear in mind that mild here refers to the taste and not to caffeine: the caffeine content is simply that of regular coffee. If you are looking for coffee without caffeine, have a look at Landhaus Entkoffeiniert.

Which coffee machines is Landhaus Naturmild ground coffee suitable for?

Landhaus Naturmild has a filter grind, which makes it ideal for the classic filter coffee machine and for percolators. Simply spoon the coffee into a paper or permanent filter and let the machine do the rest.

It is too coarse for an espresso machine: the water runs through too quickly and the coffee ends up thin and sour. It does work in a cafetière (French press), but because the grind is relatively fine you will get more sediment in your cup. In that case, brew it for a little less time and pour carefully.

How many cups of coffee will I get from 500 grams of Landhaus Naturmild?

The usual dose for filter coffee is 6 to 7 grams per 125 ml cup, about one level measuring spoon. That gives you roughly 70 to 80 cups from 500 grams, or around ten full jugs.

Because Naturmild is a soft blend, some people use a slightly more generous dose. If you find the coffee too weak, add a gram or two per cup rather than running more water through the same amount of coffee.

What is the difference between Landhaus Naturmild and Landhaus Klassisch?

Both are 500-gram filter-ground blends for the filter coffee machine, but they aim at a different flavour profile. Naturmild is deliberately low in acidity: soft, rounded and lightly nutty. Klassisch has more body and a lightly spicy, instantly recognisable coffee flavour.

If you drink your coffee black and like a gentle cup, Naturmild is the obvious choice. If you drink it with milk, or you want the coffee to still come through clearly, Klassisch is the better fit.
