Mandheling coffee is cultivated on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, specifically in the west-central region of Padang, at elevations ranging from 750 to 1,500 metres above sea level. Renowned for its smooth, full-bodied texture and rich, complex flavour, this coffee owes its exceptional taste to the nutrient-rich volcanic soil and tropical climate. It's named after the Mandailing people of North Sumatra, who are an ethnic group rather than a regional designation.

The harvest season typically occurs between June and December.
