Mandheling coffee is grown on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It grows in the west-central region of Padang between 750 and 1,500 metres above sea level. It is known for its smooth, full body (mouthfeel) and rich, complex flavour. The coffee's flavour develops well due to the rich volcanic soil and tropical climate. The coffee is named after the Mandailing people of North Sumatra - an ethnic group rather than a region
The harvest season usually takes place between June and December.
