What is Roaster's Cut Daily Balance LOW CAF?

Roaster's Cut Daily Balance LOW CAF is a blend of our Decaf Speciale and a Costa Rica from Tarrazú, half and half, with a medium roast. The decaf is decaffeinated with the natural CO2 method. You taste chocolate and nuts, ripe red fruit and plum, with a soft chocolate finish. It contains about half the caffeine of a regular cup.

This coffee is made for the second cup of the day, the afternoon cup or the late espresso. It works well for espresso, cappuccino and filter coffee. You get whole beans in a 1 kg bag. Grind them fresh before brewing.

Café du Jour roasts this coffee in its own roastery in the Netherlands.

What is Roaster's Cut?

Roaster's Cut is the test kitchen of our roastery. Before a new coffee joins our regular range, a lot happens first: we try out new beans, blends and roast profiles. It all starts on our small sample roaster, but that only roasts a few hundred grams at a time. Roaster's Cut is the next step. We roast the experiment in a larger batch on our own roaster, so you can taste it while we keep developing it.

What does that mean for you?

• Ahead of everyone else: you get to taste coffees that may later join our regular range, before they are officially launched.
• Limited edition: every Roaster's Cut is roasted in small quantities. Once it is gone, it is gone, and there is no guarantee the same coffee will return.
• Still in development: the flavour profile, name and packaging are not final yet. That is why Roaster's Cut comes in simple packaging. All the attention goes to what is inside.
• Roasted with care: it is still an experiment, but one our roasters thought was good enough to share with you. Every batch is roasted and cupped in our own roastery in the Netherlands.
