How Dallmayr Classic tastes
Dallmayr Classic tastes strong and aromatic, and Dallmayr sums it up as "klassisch gut": classically good. On Dallmayr's scales (out of 5), Classic scores 3 for roast, 2 for acidity and 4 for strength, which puts it at 8 out of 13 on the Café du Jour scale. Dallmayr describes it as a perfectly composed coffee, ideal for any occasion: Kaffee für jeden Anlass. If you like it even stronger, there is Dallmayr Classic kräftig, with a strength of 5 out of 5.
Grinding Classic beans for filter coffee
Grind Dallmayr Classic beans yourself for a hand filter, a French press (cafetière) or a filter coffee machine, or use them in a bean-to-cup machine. Grind medium-fine for filter and coarser for the French press. For filter coffee in general, Dallmayr advises grinding coarser if the water runs through too slowly and finer if it runs through too fast. The beans are packaged in a protective atmosphere; once opened, keep the pack well closed in a cool, dry place.
Dallmayr Classic or prodomo?
Dallmayr Classic differs from Dallmayr prodomo in its beans: Classic combines arabica and robusta, while prodomo is 100% arabica. Classic is made in Germany from green coffee grown outside the EU by Alois Dallmayr Kaffee OHG in Munich, and is part of Dallmayr's Via Verde sustainability programme. More blends like Classic are under arabica and robusta blends.
