No, Christmas Rooibos is caffeine free. Rooibos does not come from the tea plant and naturally contains no caffeine or theine. That means you can happily drink this Christmas blend in the evening after dinner.

Christmas Rooibos contains rooibos, apple, goji berries, flavouring, cornflower petals and the antioxidant ascorbic acid. The red goji berries and red petals give it the festive look, while the apple and the flavouring provide the sweet, fruity taste. If you have an allergy, always check the ingredient list on the packaging.

Use about 2 grams of loose tea per cup, which is roughly a level teaspoon. Rooibos can be brewed with hot water just off the boil and you let it steep for 5 to 7 minutes. Rooibos does not turn bitter quickly, so a longer steeping time is not a problem. Because this is loose leaf tea, you need a tea strainer, a tea filter or tea tongs.

At about 2 grams of loose tea per cup, this 100 gram bag gives you around 50 cups. If you make the tea stronger or use a large mug, you will of course end up with fewer. For a pot, multiply the number of cups by 2 grams.

Store this loose leaf tea dry, dark and well sealed, for example in the original bag or in a tea tin. Tea easily absorbs odours, so do not put it next to strongly scented products such as spices or coffee. That way the aroma and the fruity flavour are preserved for as long as possible.
