English Blend tastes rich and robust, with a gently spicy edge at the end of the sip. The black tea comes from several Sri Lankan plantations. Tea Cultures traces the style back to the era of the Dutch East India Company, when the blend was created for English tea drinkers who wanted a strong tea that could take milk and rock sugar.

When and how to brew English Blend

English Blend is at its most rewarding at breakfast, with a splash of milk. Use one bag per cup and freshly boiled water at 100 °C, ideally soft water. Leave it for a few minutes, to taste. For a teapot, the maker's dose is 12 g per litre, which is 6 bags.
