Hemp tea, like all other types of herbal tea, is an infusion made from dried leaves of the hemp plant.
This consists of cut, organically grown hemp leaves, without flowers or seeds, and is intended for use as tea.
A scientific study shows that in a (strong) infusion of 15 grams of hemp leaves in 1 L of boiling water, only a very small amount of the psychoactive substance THC remains: 0.23 mg/L. Consumption of 1.2 L of hemp leaf infusion over two hours did not result in detectable concentrations of THC metabolites in the urine of 6 subjects. The psychotropic threshold of THC is about 0.2 mg/kg of body weight, which is 14 mg for a 70 kg person. Such a person would need to drink over 60 L of hemp leaf infusion in boiling water before experiencing any psychoactive effects...
So there's absolutely no need to worry about getting high from this tea.
Why would you want to drink it? It's a beautifully fresh green leaf with a nice, refreshing taste. Moreover, there's evidence suggesting that cannabis has therapeutic potential. Some even propose that cannabis might well become the aspirin of the 21st century.
