ABOCFA is a distinctive cocoa cooperative in Ghana, certified for both organic and fair trade standards. With 1,063 members (789 men and 274 women), the cooperative collectively manages 1,514 hectares of land. Its headquarters, employing 23 people, is situated in the Aponoapono enclave in the Suhum municipality, Eastern Ghana. ABOCFA's mission is to equip farmers with productivity and management skills to enhance their livelihoods. The cooperative also aims to boost farmers' incomes by offering premiums for organic and fair trade products. Its primary objectives are to achieve self-sufficiency, reduce poverty, and provide a sustainable income for all its members. Special emphasis is placed on child protection and education opportunities, with a dedicated team tackling child labor issues. Additionally, all cooperative members have access to health insurance, which supports their overall well-being.
