You can use almost any coffee bean with the Hario Mizudashi, but for the best results we recommend choosing a coarser grind and opting for beans with a profile that is sweet, fresh, and low in bitterness. Cold Brew generally brings out the sweeter, milder notes in coffee. Feel free to experiment to taste!
Can I also use the Hario Mizudashi Cold Brew Coffee Pot for making hot coffee or tea?
Yes, the Hario Mizudashi is made from heat- and cold-resistant glass. The included filter makes the pot suitable for brewing both Cold Brew coffee and loose leaf tea. For hot coffee, we recommend following Hario’s instructions, as the pot is officially designed for the Cold Brew brewing method.
Is the filter reusable and easy to clean?
Yes, the permanent filter of the Hario Mizudashi is reusable and easy to clean. After use, you can empty the filter, rinse it under running water and, if necessary, clean it with a soft brush. Both the filter and the pot are dishwasher safe.
