What is the spicy quartet fresh loose tea?

The fresh loose tea spicy quartet is a curated tea pack from Café du Jour that brings together four distinct loose leaf blends in one convenient package. Each blend has its own character, from refreshing herbs to warming spices. You get four bags of 100g each, giving you plenty of variety to enjoy throughout the day and evening.

The four blends in the pack

    • Fresh Herbs – 100g: a herbal blend of nettle, liquorice, fennel, elderflower, peppermint, and lemongrass. Light and refreshing.
    • Nightcap – 100g: an evening blend featuring valerian and St John's Wort.
    • Inspiración – 100g: a green tea with cinnamon, lemongrass, hibiscus, ginger, cardamom and cloves.
    • Nature Chai – 100g: chai spices including ginger and cinnamon on a base of black tea.

All four blends are loose leaf, produced in the Netherlands, and packed together so you can explore a range of tea experiences without ordering separately.

    Who is it suitable for?

This tea pack suits anyone who enjoys variety in their cup. Whether you reach for a warming spiced tea in the afternoon or a gentler blend in the evening, the spicy quartet has a blend for each moment. It also makes a thoughtful gift for herbal tea enthusiasts who like to explore different flavours.

Match each blend to your moment

    • Fresh Herbs: a good choice when you want something light and refreshing during the day.
    • Nightcap: a fitting choice for the end of the day.
    • Inspiración: great when you want a spiced green tea with ginger, cinnamon and cloves.
    • Nature Chai: a fuller-bodied option thanks to its black tea base, with ginger and cinnamon warmth.

How do you use the spicy quartet tea pack?

Brewing loose leaf herbal tea is straightforward. You need a tea infuser, a strainer, or a teapot with a built-in filter. Measure out roughly 2 to 3 grams of loose tea per cup, pour hot water over it, and let it steep for the time that suits your taste. Each 100g bag gives you approximately 40 to 50 cups, so the full pack of four yields around 160 to 200 cups in total.

    Simple brewing steps

    1. Place your infuser or strainer in a cup or teapot.
    2. Add 2 to 3 grams of loose tea per cup.
    3. Pour hot water over the leaves.
    4. Steep for 3 to 5 minutes, adjusting to your preferred strength.
    5. Remove the infuser and enjoy.

You can also experiment by blending small amounts from two of the four varieties to create your own combination. For example, a pinch of Inspiración added to Nature Chai deepens the spice profile.

    FAQ
    Customer Questions
Are the ingredients of these teas 100% natural?
Yes, all teas in the Spicy Quartet are composed of 100% natural herbs, spices, and dried plants. No artificial additives, flavourings, or colourings are used.
Is this tea suitable for drinking in the evening or does it contain caffeine?
Three of the four tea varieties (Fresh Herbs, Slaapmutsje, Inspiracion) are completely caffeine-free and therefore very suitable for drinking in the evening. Only the Nature Chai contains black tea and therefore naturally contains a small amount of caffeine. If you want to drink completely caffeine-free, you can skip this variety in the evening.
Which flavours and spices are included in the Spicy Quartet tea package?
The Spicy Quartet consists of four different herbal tea varieties: Fresh Herbs (nettle, liquorice, fennel, elderflower, peppermint, lemongrass), Slaapmutsje (including valerian and St. John's wort), Inspiracion (ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, clove) and Nature Chai (black tea with, among others, ginger and cinnamon). Each bag contains 100 grams of tea.
What is the best way to prepare this loose tea for optimal flavour?
We recommend using 2 to 3 grams (about a full teaspoon) of tea per cup. Pour 95-100°C hot water over it and let the tea steep for 5 to 8 minutes. You can use a tea strainer or filter so that the herbs are easy to remove from the water.
