Café du Jour a nature-consious choice

Café du jour makes nature consious choices. For example non of our products are made with artificial fertilizer, chemical pesticides or geneticlly modified organisms. Farmer and growers choose to let nature do as much as it can for them, as little interference as possible. Choose for a nature-consious life, choose for a better life.  

The nature consious grown coffee and tea has no help from crop protectors. they have to "defend" themselves. This makes sure the plant creates anti-fungus substances. These biological crops contain more antioxidants and certain micronutrients like vitamin C, Zink and Iron. All these are very healthy and good for you.

What are requirements for a nature consious product?

The products we list as nature consious are:

• Produced without the use of artificial fertilizer.
• Produced without the use of chemical pesticides.
• Produced without the use of genetic modification.
• Produced without the use of grow hormones.
• Produced without the use of antibiotics.

The raw materials we buy are organic yet we cannot always brand them as organic. This is because we revise the raw material when we roast them, mix them or grab them. .

The way to a cleaner future

More and more of our products are coming from nature consious agriculture without atrificial fertilizer or pesticides. We are always working on making our process better and even more less damaging to the environment. We took some measurments to make sure to minimalize our impact.

• All the power we use we create ourselves with solarpanels.. 
  Creating our products takes lots of power, thats why our entire warehouse roof is filled with solarpanels. So all the power we use we make ourselves..
• Products that near their experation date are donated
  Every year Café du Jour is faced with products that are beyond selling. Either because the season is changing or simply because the product is nearing it's experiation date. Luckily it rarely happens that we have to throw products away. Part of the products are given to people in need or given to foundation that help in developing countries. Furthermore we also gift products with regular orders to give the costumer a little extra. Other products are sold with discount or against prices under market value. 
• Shipping as much CO2-neutural as we can
  For small packages we work with carriers who are consiously thinking of the environment. Carriers that work more with bike delivery or all electric vehicles, carries that dare to experiment. For larger packages that weigh more than 10KG we use an standard carrier that compensates 100% of the CO2 they emit.
• We create our own packaging material
  To avoid that products get damage during shipping we do use packaging material. But to make sure this doesn't affect the environment as much we recycle the boxes that we receive our materials in to use it as shipping material. So we recycle boxes to fill up boxes!
